Several digital public services in the Republic of Moldova will remain unavailable on Monday, 26 October 2026, after authorities blocked a new cyberattack attempt on government systems. Radio Moldova cites the Electronic Governance Agency (AGE), the Cybersecurity Agency (ASC) and the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service (STISC).
The new forced-access attempt was identified and blocked on the night from Saturday to Sunday, around 02:00. Some platforms remain disconnected as a precaution while infrastructure is checked. About 15 specialists from the three institutions are working on securing the systems; no exact date for a full restore has been announced.
Government spokesperson Dumitru Ciorici said the attack from recent days continued in a new phase. On the night of 22 October systems recorded about 11 million access requests; the incident was stopped on 23 October, and security checks continued. Authorities have not published a confirmed attribution of the attackers; Ciorici only mentioned a suspicion of hybrid attacks, without naming an author.
Affected services include platforms for permissive acts: urbanism certificates, phytosanitary certificates, sanitary-veterinary transport authorisations, trade notifications, and procedures linked to medicines, biocides, food safety and sanitary opinions. Technical teams have worked without interruption since 23 October, with priority on protecting data.
Institutions urge the public to watch for fraud by phone, SMS or email: scammers may pose as public officials or bank staff and may use a name or IDNP. Citizens are advised not to share passwords, codes or bank details and not to open suspicious links. This is not an energy blackout, but unavailability of some digital services.
