On Saturday night, 24 October 2026, near Florida A&M University’s Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallahassee, 11 people were shot. Police: no deaths reported. The medical tally remains preliminary.
Among the victims: six minors, including an 11-year-old, Police Chief Lawrence Revell said. In all, 12 were injured — a victim’s grandmother was hurt while fleeing, not by a bullet. Sunday morning, CNN: five discharged, six still hospitalised, one in critical condition.
The shooting came hours after the homecoming game, in which Arkansas–Pine Bluff beat Florida A&M 31–28. Whether the gunfire was linked to the game is unclear. The area: Perry Street, behind the stadium.
Revell: preliminary information points to an altercation between two or three people — an isolated incident. No arrests. The Violent Crimes Unit is leading; police asked for tips, photos and video.
Mayor John Dailey called it a “truly horrific and heartbreaking tragedy.” The university: campus is safe; people should avoid the area so the investigation can continue. Not a confirmed terrorist attack. No invented suspect.
