Another unmanned aircraft flew unauthorized through Moldova’s airspace on Saturday, 31 October 2026, around 17:50, amid massive Russian attacks on Ukraine, the Defence Ministry said, as carried by Radio Chișinău.
According to the Air Operations Centre, the drone entered from near Mykhailivka, Vinnytsia region (Ukraine), toward Sobari in Soroca district. It was tracked near Dondușeni and at 18:03 crossed Goleni, Gordinești and Burlănești (Edineț). At 18:12 it left national airspace near Viișoara, Edineț district.
It was the second incident the same day: the first drone entered at 16:24 from the Odesa region toward Plopi (Rîbnița), was seen at Bănești (Telenești) and dropped off radar near Țibirica (Călărași). Northern and central airspace was briefly restricted, then reopened after reassessment.
The ministry tells the public that if they see suspicious craft or fragments they must not approach or touch them (explosion risk), move at least 500 metres away, avoid using phones nearby and call 112. The Air Operations Centre keeps monitoring in coordination with authorities and partners.
In October Chișinău has reported dozens of airspace violations linked to the war in Ukraine; such overflights remain a security risk for northern localities, without today’s statement assigning a specific target or origin beyond the context of Russian strikes on Ukraine.
