The 2026 TCS New York City Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, 1 November. The 42.195-kilometre race crosses the city’s five boroughs, from Staten Island to Central Park.
The course runs through Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan. The Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, the other crossings and the elevation changes give the race its profile. The official NYRR map remains the reference, not a press sketch.
Starts are organised in waves and corrals by estimated time. Individual start times differ. Runners should check transport to the start, bag drop, race numbers and hydration points on the race-day pages.
For spectators, some streets and bridges are closed or have restricted access. NYRR publishes recommended viewing areas and tracking information. Traffic closures are updated close to the event.
The elite field and broadcasts may be revised until close to 1 November. A calendar article does not name winners and does not treat app estimates as official time.
Entry is through NYRR routes, including a drawing, qualifying programmes and charity partnerships, each with its own rules. 2026 registration details should be taken from the organiser’s site, not from summaries.
