On 15 February 1951, at Moscow, the Agreement between the Polish Republic and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics concerning the exchange of sectors of their State territories was signed. Plenipotentiaries: Aleksander Zawadzki, Vice-Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Poland, and Andrei Yanuarievich Vyshinsky, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the USSR. Authentic texts: Polish and Russian. The Agreement amends the frontier Treaty of 16 August 1945. Article 5: ratification; entry into force on the exchange of instruments, at Warsaw. UNTC: 5 June 1951. Registration by Poland on 10 July 1962, UNTS I-6222, volume 432. Wikipedia sometimes confuses the signature with a ratification statute; the Polish ratification law is dated 26 May 1951.

Article 1: the USSR cedes to Poland, on a basis of mutual exchange, a sector of 480 square kilometres in the Drogobych Region, according to the annexed frontier description and the map on the scale of 1:500,000. Article 2: Poland in turn cedes a sector likewise of 480 square kilometres in the Lublin voivodship. The annex to Article 1 leaves on the Polish side localities such as Lutowiska, Bystre, Kroscienko and Liskowate — the Ustrzyki Dolne area. The annex to Article 2 leaves on the Soviet side the Rawa Ruska–Krystynopol railway and localities such as Uhnow, Belz and Warez. We do not reproduce the kilometrage from churches.

Article 3: a paritary Mixed Frontier Demarcation Commission, which shall begin not later than two weeks and complete its work not later than two to three months from the exchange of ratifications; expenses shared equally. This is not a survey handbook. Article 4: property questions are regulated by the annexed Protocol, an integral part, entering into force with the Agreement.

Protocol, Article 1: immovable State, co-operative and other public property, including the equipment of undertakings, railways and communications, shall be transferred without compensation and fully intact; movable property, including rolling stock and machinery, may be removed. Article 3: the value of immovable property left by persons changing residence shall not be reimbursed. Article 4: transfer of the sectors and resettlement of the population shall be completed not later than six months from entry into force. This is not an evacuation handbook. A commission of three plenipotentiaries from each Party shall draw up the deeds of transfer.

The Ukrainian SSR is not a party; the Soviet sectors lay in the Ukrainian SSR. The 1945 treaty remains the frontier framework, only corrected. A second exchange project, in 1952, was not signed. The instruments DONE formula is not copied.

Ustrzyki Dolne is now in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship; Belz, Uhniv and former Krystynopol (now Chervonohrad/Sheptytskyi) are in Lviv Oblast of Ukraine.
