Several waves of Russian ballistic missiles hit Kyiv overnight on 6–7 November, hours after President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia was preparing a large-scale infrastructure attack, according to Digi24 / Kyiv Independent.
At least six people were injured in the capital, including a 14-year-old girl; two were hospitalised, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. The Northern Bridge, a key crossing over the Dnipro, was damaged — roadway, trolleybus line and power cables — and closed in both directions.
Zelensky said Russia fired 36 ballistic missiles at Kyiv and the surrounding region, plus dozens of Shahed-type drones. Ukraine’s Air Force reported partial interceptions. In Kyiv Oblast, strikes also hit substations linking the Rivne and Khmelnytskyi nuclear plants to the central grid.
The first salvos came shortly before 11 p.m. local time on 6 November; fresh alerts followed near midnight, after 1 a.m. and again after 3 a.m. In Solomianskyi district, residential buildings, a non-residential building and a kindergarten were damaged and fires broke out.
In Brovary district a jet-powered drone set a home ablaze; a man was pulled from rubble with burns and shrapnel wounds. Across the wider region the attack killed at least one person and injured others, police said.
“Russia is preparing for the trilateral talks by launching ballistic missiles at Ukrainian critical infrastructure,” Zelensky said in the morning. He called for increased bilateral support from the United States as Kyiv faced blackouts and water and heating problems.
