USR’s congress, meeting on Saturday, 31 October 2026 in Timișoara, adopted the political resolution “We stick to the job. We stick to our word.” The text reviews the party’s ministers’ record, sets opposition principles and directions for a future government, according to a party release cited by Agerpres and reported by G4Media.

The stated goal is a government without PSD and without AUR, built with citizens, mayors and reformist forces, with the PNL as an “equal partner” — the parties remaining separate. In opposition, USR says it will not stop at criticism: it will “govern from opposition,” putting a reformist counter-bill against each PSD law it deems harmful, and firmly opposing tax hikes.

The resolution lists results attributed to USR ministers (among them Diana Buzoianu, Oana Țoiu, Radu Miruță, Irineu Darău, Ionuț Moșteanu): cutting forestry directorates from 41 to 19 and tracking illegal logging by satellite; at Defence, 238 checks said to have stopped irregularities of 800 million lei; a SAFE allocation of over 16 billion euros (second in the EU); professional selection rounds at 23 state companies; restarting five defence factories; and stopping a metro fare increase.

Priorities include cutting the deficit “without putting the burden on workers and pensioners,” trimming state privileges, ending prescription as an escape route, real parliamentary oversight of the intelligence services, anti-drone protection on the eastern border, support for Ukraine and Moldova, administrative reform and returning to two-round mayoral elections. Dominic Fritz said “AUR is not anti-system. It is the system’s safety valve.”

USR’s president said the next elections will be won by a reformist majority and that the party wants to be the “engine,” not the trailer: “We stick to the job. We stick to our word.” Delegates approved the resolution unanimously by show of hands, according to congress reports.
