World Animal Day is observed on 4 October. Coordinator Naturewatch Foundation announced the 2026 theme: “See the World Through Their Eyes” — an invitation to change perspective, not a single gala programme.

Associations, shelters, schools and communities run their own actions: education, adoption, fundraising. They register on the day’s site; an unlisted event is not “officially global”. This account does not promote an unverified Romanian calendar.

Welfare means food, water, shelter, veterinary care and protection from avoidable suffering. Needs differ among companion animals, farm animals, wildlife and animals used by people. The rules are not mixed.
